*

Speaker(s):
Jeff Dlott
Clifford Ohmart

USDA defines sustainable development as development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. California winegrowers have taken a highly visible leadership role in developing and implementing programs to broaden the understanding and adoption of sustainable practices. The speakers in this session will provide an update on the status of programs being embraced by growers and vintners and try to answer the questions: How do sustainable programs add value for growers? Do they mitigate or address regulatory burden? Do they enhance quality? Do they help to reduce costs of production?
